echo "y" | mkfs.vfat $bootpart
echo "y" | mkfs.ext4 $rootpart
echo "y" | mkfs.ext4 /dev/sdb1

For example:

mount $rootpart /mnt
mkdir /mnt/boot
mount $bootpart /mnt/boot
mkdir /mnt/sdb
mount /dev/sdb1 /mnt/sdb
