JavaScript Area Range Chart

JavaScript Area Range Chart

This demo application belongs to the set of examples for LightningChart JS, data visualization library for JavaScript.

LightningChart JS is entirely GPU accelerated and performance optimized charting library for presenting massive amounts of data. It offers an easy way of creating sophisticated and interactive charts and adding them to your website or web application.

The demo can be used as an example or a seed project. Local execution requires the following steps:

  • Make sure that relevant version of Node.js is installed

  • Open the project folder in a terminal:

      npm install              # fetches dependencies
      npm start # builds an application and starts the development server

  • The application is available at http://localhost:8080 in your browser, webpack-dev-server provides hot reload functionality.

Description

Also known as a Area Graph, Area Chart or Range Area Chart

The example shows the basic usage of an Area Range series. The Range Area Chart is similar to the Area series, which is plotted by shading the area between a range of values ( high & low ) represented by two curves of data.

Range charts are generally used to show variations (low & high) simultaneously in the given period. Typical visualization applications use this type of graph shows temperature, price etc.

The series uses two fill styles, which can be configured individually, the identical behavior is applicable for borders:

  • the normal fill is used when High is greater than Low
  • the reversed fill is used when Low is greater than High
// Create a new ChartXY.
const chart = lightningChart().ChartXY()

// Add an area series with bipolar direction using default X and Y axes.
const areaRange = chart.addAreaRangeSeries()

The series accepts AreaPoint type of points either as an object in format { position: number, high: number, low: number },

series.add({ position: 20, high: 45, low: -20 })

or via a factory that should be additionally imported.

series.add(AreaPoint(20, 45, -20))

Any number of points can be added with a single call.

// Single point.
series.add({ position: 20, high: 45, low: -20 })

// Multiple points at once.
series.add([
    { position: 20, high: 45, low: -20 },
    { position: 40, high: 95, low: 10 },
    { position: 60, high: 25, low: 60 },
])

lcjs-example-0100-arearange's Issues

Line chart is always going under arearange

I am adding several rangeseries and linechart with below code

for(var i = 0;i<=8;i++)
{

   niftyseriesup[i] = chart[1].addAreaRangeSeries().setHighStrokeStyle(greenline).setLowStrokeStyle(greenline).setHighFillStyle(greencolors[i]);

 niftyseriesdown[i] = chart[1].addAreaRangeSeries().setHighStrokeStyle(redline).setHighFillStyle(redcolors[i]);

 if(i == 8)
 {

 setTimeout(function(){
   niftylineY = chart[1].addAxisY(true);
   niftylinechart = chart[1].addLineSeries({ dataPattern: DataPatterns.horizontalProgressive ,yAxis: niftylineY}).setMaxPointCount(8000);
  }, 200);

 }

}

I am adding the line chart at last , Still Its appear under the rangeseries chart sometimes.
