Will not play videos from within split .rar files about ps3mediaserver HOT 4 CLOSED

the media server is dependant on mplayer, so it's quite impossible to do 
without 
adding this in mplayer...

i didn't realise that.
i was going on the thinking that because xbmc uses mplayer, and has this 
feature,
that it would be possible here too.

surely if the java app running on the pc has the ability to 'see' the video file
within the split rars, it can the handle it in the same way it would any other 
video
file?

You already have the app handling rar files for photos/music so why not video?

yup, there are unofficial builds of mplayer who supports .rar playing, but I 
prefer 
stick to the official source code for the time being

I would also love to see this feature.. We tried to play a movie like this 
yesterday, but after 5min we only figured out the movie was jumping around :-P

I take it in the passed 2-3 years, this is still not possible?
