dellroad-stuff-maven-plugin: Single quotes in `exec-set-property` result about dellroad-stuff HOT 2 CLOSED

If I replace the
<parameter>+'%Y/%m/%d %H:%M:%S %z'</parameter>
with
<parameter>+%Y/%m/%d %H:%M:%S %z</parameter>
, the single quotes are gone.

The behavior is correct.

Single quotes are a shell quoting mechanism; with the Maven plugin, there is no command line so there is no quoting needed. Instead, arguments are delimited by the XML tags.

On the command line, to pass an argument with spaces you need quotes, e.g.:

$ echo foo    bar
foo bar
$ echo 'foo    bar'
foo    bar

In the plugin no quoting is necessary:

<command>echo</command>
    <parameters>
        <parameter>foo   bar</parameter>
    </parameters>
