canvas.arc42.org-site's Issues

add "ReceipeRecommender" canvas to examples

[ ] add image (thumbnail plus larger version) similar to other examples
[ ] add page with additional explanation for this specific canvas (start with ReceipeRecommender...)

add plausible.io counter

add this:

<script defer data-domain="canvas.arc42.org" src="https://plausible.io/js/script.js"></script>

to site header

add canvas contribution by Marc Gorzala (together with link to his website)

https://project.dancier.net/documentation/arc42/arc42-canvas.html

done: 1. take canvas, export as png and include in /examples
done: 2. add "button" and redirect to his website (see above)

  1. eventually extract a few details from his site to new example-explanation page on canvas.

done - in bullet list below images: In every case, we must not forget to explicitly give credits to him and his open-source project contributors.

Translate 404

As its currently german and the rest of the site is english, this should be english as well

question: Social Icons in Footer

@bitsmuggler currently the social icons link to my (LinkedIn, YouTube, dev.to) accounts.

I've no good idea how to handle that, as the subdomain is teamwork...

Proposal:

  • delete youtube and dev.to
  • let linkedin point to the arc42 group (which is pretty inactive, but that may change)

other ideas?

Draw.io template: Text in header fields "System"/ "Created by"/ "Created for"/ "Date"not visible

How to reconstruct:

  • Type a word into the systemfield for example.
  • Used fontcolor: black. Used backgroundcolor: white (both are default set)
  • Klick outside the field

Tested OS: Windows, MacOs

Expected behavior:
Typed system description is visible.

Actual behavior:
White field. If you double click in the middle of the field you mark the previous typed word and see: it is there. But it is not "static" visible.

Enforce landscape mode on mobile

@gernotstarke I've implemented (as a suggestion) a forcing of landscape mode on a mobile in the aic. Because at least the Architecture Inception Canvas doesn't look good in portrait mode. Also, I'm afraid it's difficult to make the Canvas readable in portrait mode on mobile.

What do you think about this enforcement?

Add samples

so people can see HOW the canvas(es) might be used

add css grid to explain the canvas

Patrick, let's migrate the testgrid to production :-)

your changes look great - I will add some more content, plus links to details-sections.

add additional download links/buttons

People have complained that it's difficult to find the downloads,
as these are ONLY available at the bottom of the respective canvases.

Solution:

  • create download page (which is NOT linked in main menu), containing all acc and aic downloads
  • add download button on homepage (within "what is a canvas" )
  • add download button on examples page (maybe even in the gallery)
  • add link to download page in page footer

question: license

Patrick, is the following license ok for you:

Software Architecture Canvas © 2023 by Gernot Starke, Patrick Roos and arc42 Contributors is licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0
