Now that the design principles content is in it's own directory's README, the repo README is kind of bare and could use some updates.

...with general info on how the guides are used, perhaps a checklist of guides that still need to be created, how to contribute, etc.

Some improvements that could be made to the existing alerts doc:

• add some example images from in the app for context (in addition to the designs at the bottom)
• use a table structure for the guidelines at the top to help make comparing differences a little easier
