Initial list of changes needed - @gkimbwala and @vinijaiswal if we can agree on these or tweak them we can open individual issues for these and fan out the work (I can get help from NearForm and committee leads as well)

  • Change Logo in upper left corner to 2023 logo
  • Remove the 'Choose Your Own Adventure' menu and content (we only have Featured Projects this year)
  • Update the Register Now button on the homepage to direct people to AnitaB GHC registration and let people know that everyone registered for GHC (virtual or in person is also registered for OSD)
  • Update the pictures and buttons on the home page so they direct to the correct content.
  • Change the graphics and content on this page: /open-source-day/
  • Update the Agenda page: /agenda/ (for workshops and Day at a glance)
  • Update Featured Projects (several are the same as last year - it would be great to add project logos) /featured/
  • Update Workshops page /workshops/
  • Update Mentors page and ask mentors to create PRs to add their headshots (work with Mentors committee) /mentors/
  • Update Press (or, potentially remove this content and link out to AnitaB press?)
  • Update Blog section, or remove, or redirect to AnitaB? /blog/
  • Update FAQ /faq/

This list looks good to me. We might want to get some clarity around the Press Section and the Blog section this week from Kirsten but for now, it looks good.

My main question is do we still want a blog section and what is its purpose?

In the press section, do we expect sponsors to write pieces about OSD, and if so we need to make sure to include that in our communication?

Good questions - I think the 'blog' posts in that section are really just information (introducing Co Chairs). And we can get input from @kirstenrider and @KhadijahM-AnitaB on the Press section.

We also need to update the Code of Conduct file in this repo, and it would be good to put a link to that in the FAQ

Agree! I was looking for the Code of Conduct on the website and I didn't see it but it should be somewhere visible.
