mat2 is the best metadata remover for linux however it does not support windows refer https://0xacab.org/jvoisin/mat2/-/issues/175 ,
Future contributors may try to port some of the linux specific code to windows if possible , or find work arounds to make linux specific code somehow work in windows.

the windows python version of metadata remover is basically a stripped down mat2 for linux . make upstream changes available to ensure end user benefit from bugfixes and other improvements.

Metadata-Remover doesn't properly clean all EXIF information from TIFF files because the underlying ExifTool needs an additional parameter "-CommonIFD0=" for deleting the different metadata structure. We will find a hint in the ExifTool FAQ under the heading "I can't delete all EXIF information from a TIFF file using 'exiftool -exif:all= img.tif'"

I wish someone would convert this tool into pypi package.

Currently the python code in Metadata remover is a huge bloat, it contains lots of code which is never used. Contributors may try to remove as much unwanted code as possible without breaking this project and without removing essential code.

I just found this project while scrolling through up-for-grabs.net and i think this tool is really cool!
However, one of the only flaws this program has is its command line interface which i don't find very aesthetically pleasing.

But i'm ready to implement this (for the python and maybe the C version later) using special ASCII/Unicode characters and a terminal-coloring font.
So if you want this idea to become a reality, i'm ready to make this happen any time1

We should adopt a GUI for better user friendliness at some point , ideally QT6 or GTK4.
