Dear Developers,

Is it possible to convert the PIC simulation data, which is in OpenPMD format (FBPIC code), to ASTRA particle tracking code format ?

OR, in general, if I have particle data information:

(1) x-position
(2) y-position
(3) z-position
(4) Px, x-momentum
(5) Py, y-momentum
(6) Pz, z-momentum
(7) Particles weight

can it be converted to ASTRA format ?

Hi @AngelFP ,

It would be nice to have feature so that particle distribution can be converted from OpenPMD to Ocelot format. It would be very powerful for simulating beamline.

Dear Professor Angel,

I saw that APtools can be used for post-processing of data from CSRtrack code. For electron buch compressor CSRtrack is recommended by many people because of 3D csr effect calculation. I want to do it. Before that I also want to learn how to use CSRtrack code. I tried to search for a forum where I can ask my question about CSRtrack. Do you know someone who can help me in CSRtrack code.

I am looking for a tool to calculate radiation spectrum of oscillating electron beam in wakefield etc. I think at the moment it is not possible to use APtools for it. However, it might be a helpful for users to add such capabilities.

If APtools will undergo any future massive upgrade, with extended advanced functionalities, please take note of this feature request.

Dear APtools developers,

I am Daniela from Pisa University. I came to know about APtools from one of my friend. It looks great to make diagnostics of electron beam with it.
I have problem in making energy spectrum of the electron beam. I can make electron beam energy spectrum as Energy on X-axis and spectrum (arbitrary unit) on Y-axis. But I want to know how to make energy spectrum as done in many articles.
I mean I want to plot energy spectrum as charge per MeV (pC/MeV) and also energy spectrum as charge per MeV per micron (pC/MeV/μm). I am using FBPIC code.
