Although settings in prefs.js

• enableHistory = false
• numberHistoryItems = 1 (cannot be 0 using options gui)

history is saving in {[email protected]"} setting.
[Clear history] in options gui is clearing the setting, but later history words saved again.

could you please fix this

Ever since the introduction of the smaller clickable bubble, the one that has to be clicked for the translation to appear, the translation process doesn't seem to work for me, at all, not even when that feature is turned off by switching to that other option ("Selecting text by mouse double-clicking").
It only ever shows those three loading bars but never finishes.

Version 0.2.8 didn't need me to click the bubble either way, and I like that 0.2.9 now needs an additional click so that not every stupid highlighted text or even sensitive information is sent to the translator website - but something prevents it from translating now, or at least from displaying the translation, I don't know.

I've uninstalled the add-on, restarted, reinstalled the add-on, no change.
I've switched to the actual Firefox, whereas I'm usually using Waterfox, no change.
I've created a new browser profile, no change.

Please advise.

Issues:
1- The listen button stop working after awhile and you have to restart the browser to make it work again

while the listen button doesn't work it will still work for the cached words that you have listened to them successfully before

2- The addon stop working completely sometimes and you have to reinstall it to make it work again

I faced this issue twice until now

3- Sometimes it says "Cannot Access Google Translate!" despite the Internet is working fine

It works when I try again

4- The addon doesn't detect the selected words position compared to the visible part of the screen

[like showing a part of the translation bubble in invisible area in the page]
and of course when you click on the scroll bar the translation bubble will be closed,
(you can workaround this by make the translation bubble movable)

Clearing Google™ Translator History fixed this
I don't know why but it was working when turning "network.proxy.socks_remote_dns" to False
may someone will investigate this in the future

*5- When Remote DNS enabled the addon stop working
this option is very important or the DNS requests will be leaked, I hope you Fix this ASAP

Some dynamic positioning would be good for the inline bubble, because it often overflows the visible area if the selected word is at the bottom or at the right side of the page, and I can't see the content of the bubble.

your add-on doesn't work until page is completely loaded.

I don't know if it is a wanted behaviour but if is, I don't understand why...

The option to change the Bubble theme-color does not change the Bubble theme at all. No matter what RGB value I use, the theme keeps on default. I want to use rgb(51, 51, 51) to fit my dark desktop skin.

I've recently installed your wonderful add-on in Firefox 30, under Ubuntu 14.04. I've noticed that whilst text-to-speech works as intended on the Google Translate site itself, it isn't working from within the add-on interface at all. I press the TTS icon, and am greeted with conspicuous silence.

Sometimes I open the popup and the translation direction is not what I need, so I click on the Swap button, but then I have to click into the input field to set the focus manually.

I would like to see the definition for "capitulate" but I have to manually open Google Translate from the bubble and click on the "see also" section. If I could do that from just the bubble, that'd be great.

This Addon doesn't work for me anymore. Always when i want to translate something i get the error "Cannot Access Google Translate!"

Three Days ago everything worked perfect until my provider had a maintenance work while i was surfing. I tried using this addon back then and i got the first time the error "Cannot Access Google Translate!" ofcourse since the internet didn't worked anymore.

A good hour later the provider fixed everything and i had my internet connection back. Unfortunately i have the same error in this addon.

This is now three days ago and i have still this bug.

What i have tried:
Restart Firefox
Restart PC
uninstall addon, restart firefox and reinstall it

Do you know how i can fix this?

After installation I set the languages from auto to hungarian. Then I swap languages in the popup and it remembers the last settings, which is mostly good if I want to use the popup again. If I want to use another settings, I can easily set it with the mouse. However, it is very uncomfortable when I use the inline bubble, because (for example) if I want to translate an english word to hungarian, but the last setting was hungarian to english, I have to open the popup, swap languages then select the word again in the webpage.

So, it would be good if the popup would remember the last used settings while the inline bubble would use the original settings. Or, it could be optional to satisfy everyone.

Great add-on but Acid3 test gives me score 97/100 when is enabled.

Great plugin, but missing transcription. Is a good idea to show transcription when clicked on a separate word.

I have few proposals.

1. When I translate via menu-bar popup window, the translation can't be copied to clipboard and this isn't so comfortable - I see the translation, but can not copy it.
2. When I select some text and want to translate it via menu-bar popup window, it is desired, that this text will just appear in input field.
3. In menu-bar popup window should be additional "button" - translate the entire page

I use current Firefox Nightly and tried Google™ Translator addon. At first, clicking the "Translate page..." option in the context menu does nothing. After restarting Firefox, it was OK, but only for the first time. After closing the tab, the option did nothing again.

I don't find where I can setup GoogleTM Translator to execute english to german. Sorry, if it's just a foolish mistake of myself!
It works fine with me when I want to translate german words into englich, but I need the contrariwise function, to translate from english to german.

The new "Enable translation for all selected text" option is very good, but there is a small issue. If I select some text the bubble appears at the top right corner of the selection. Then I delete or overwrite the text but the bubble does not disappear, even if there is no selection at all. Please fix this.

Use case: I speak two languages, Russian and English.
For most other languages, translation to English works much better than to Russian. But when translating from English, I obviously want to translate it to Russian. But the extension doesn't remember my preference, so I have to switch the target language every time. What makes it worse is that the list is huge, and I have to find English/Russian in it every time.

So I'd like a way to make this kind of setup:
English -> Russian.
(other language) -> English.

It would be perfect if the add-on could just automatically remember it.

Installing the add-on causes firefox to render pages of xml as html, hiding the tags as elements and displaying values as text. Without the add-on, pages of xml are displayed as raw text.

If i try to post a message on this forum https://community.spotify.com, this html text gets automatically added to the message box:

i don't know how to make the html inactive. i've tried the "code", "xmp", & "textarea" elements and none are working. i'm not a coder so i just did some googling to find these. the text below disappears if i paste it in as html.

and it won't post the message unless i remove it first, giving me an error that invalid HTML was added and needs to be removed. If i disable the add-on before composing the message then there's no problem - the html doesn't get added.

update: the add-on just updated to 0.3.4 and the problem is not longer happening.

update 4-2-15: the problem is actually still happening in that the comment form is still reporting errors of invalid html needing to be removed, even though i don't see the same html code that i pasted in above. I disabled the add-on till this is fixed.

First of all, I need to thank you very very very much for this powerful and beautiful add-on !

I frequently open .XML files in my browser to check data and I noticed that, as soon as "Google™ Translator" add-on is enabled, the layout of thoses files gets lost : they appear as text files, without any tags, colors, or line breaks.

It would be perfect if you could fix this so we don't need to disable the add-on back and forth.

Can you add in pop-up window a latin transciption/transliteration/romanization for non-latin alphabets along with translation? I'm asking this because Google Translate has correct translation only for europeans languages. Other ones have really unsuccessful translation, is unclear even after translation. Many people living in foreign countries like me still speak their native language at home but don't understand their unique and hard alphabet (such as indian armenian georgian thai and others). It would be great feature. Please think about it.

I'm very impressed with your Google Translator add-on. However it disappears from Firefox 30.0 when I restart my Mac (OS 10.6.8).

There is missing language. Please insert "Sinhala" language to Target Language: drop down menu. (Google support this language translation )

Presumably something has changed on google's side. Pressing the star icon now gives "internal error" and suggests to check that we are logged in in google, even though we are.

Installed plugin, but it doesn't do much? If I select text nothing happens. If I try tooltip, there's none. If I open miniform from icon the selected text is not there. If I try right click selected texts and choose "Define in Google Translate" nothing happens.

I'm not really sure which of these actions should actually work or how. But I could not find any convenient way that helps me with translating single words.

Hi, when Google™ Translator 0.3.5 is enabled the top navigation bar of this website will be fixed in the middle of page, after scrolling down.

When I disable the add-on and refresh the page, the problem doesn't exist anymore. I'm using FF 37.0.2.

Make the source language can change by user in bubble.
This option is necessary, because language like Chinese and Japanese have lot of share character, extension may not enable to distinguish what is user selected word.

Works if I open the document from the web. If the document is in the local hard drive doesn't work. It would be great to have that posibility.

Edit: the same occur with html document opened from local machine.

Translating by holding the Alt key doesn't work in text edit fields.

I hope to get this minimal window by short key. How to do that?

I think that automatically enlarging the bubble when you're adding a newline (with shift/ctrl+enter or by pasting multi-line text) can be a good solution.

I've recently been test-driving this extension. However, beginning a couple of days ago and every time I attempt to translate an entire page, instead of only one tab opening (as had been happening) as many as six or seven duplicate tabs open. This may have coincided with a recent Firefox update that took place around the same time. That said, I haven't discovered any other problems.

As a title says. Despite this, all works pretty well in latest Firefox. Chrome ver.46 (latest)
