Wouldn't it be better, to install all gems using bundle install --deployment, all gems would be isolated in the application directory, except for system wide gems such as bundler.

This would also mean we'd need prefix executables with bundle exec, e.g. to start puma bundle exec foreman start unless we create our own binstubs.

Also is there added benefit by using rbenv, if we plan to use the latest ruby versions?

We'll just alias be="bundle exec" or use zsh + ohmyzsh with bundler
plugin. Are you still using zsh?

I'm still using both zsh and ohmyzsh, however I don't think I would mind too much if we were to use bash on the server. It's really up to you, I wouldn't put too much effort in it though. Wdyt?
