Post type which is "medium like", or like....
Retina.js is a great option for retina images, but for your header image we could go straight to SVG. I have a simple script that detects SVG support and switches the extension to a ".png" fallback for older browsers (just IE8 and down really). If you have raster images (like photos) that you wanted to use this for then Retina.js will probably get updated with the new @3x and @4x displays that are starting to come out, but I like that SVG already has vector graphics covered.
Occasionally I add content to footer -- HTML generated by other programs (delicious library, family tree)
Let's make the READMORE work -- and I'd like to add "the circle idea" from the mission focus site to the. Here it would be easier to get a graphic of the first image in a circle. Maybe this / mission focus fix same?
(low priority)
Right now I have the symbol icons loading as a font -- is it better (in terms of download size?) to use the specific images for the handful of images I'm actually using?
Is this where git-submodules work? I want to add some private data (e.g. family emails and addresses) but want to have the rest of the repo be open
I use mail chimp to send out email letters from the RSS feed. In the past, the RSS scraper didn't work well with the picturefil, so needed to make a separate RSS feed that had the images inline
Perhaps picturefil?
Use this method to see if you are in debug mode and then serve the appropriate URL
Add a photo download button to download individual pictures
perhaps lunar.js
Have a map component for including map(s) in posts
Add slideshow support using Juicebox
We'll need the Juicebox Pro code. There is also the question of how images get into the Slideshow and where it is used. I assumed it would be on post pages, but Andy asked about XML/JSON. My plan was to create Ruby and Liquid tags so you could just add in an array.
Something like:
{% slideshow [{"/images/image1.png", "Image 1 Title"}, { "/images/image2.png", "Image 2 Title"}] %}
Or simpler if I can think of a way to do it
They are leaving out files:
"when I do build the HTML doesn't get copied over, i.e. ~/bookshelf/albums.html is in ~/source but not in ~/build"
Single posts are pageable "by category" or by "cardinal order"
Could you take off the 'title' (maybe move them to the <title> tag?
Takes up a bunch of real estate... :-)
Add social media things -- small and tasteful (if possible)
If possible, only want to include them on a few posts (for soccer parents)

Make sure it collapses well on mobile
"Next" and "Previous" links on blog indexes with large buttons
"Next" and "Previous" links on post pages with post titles
Use VideoJS to show video. Make a post type for showing single videos
See if we can get a feed for each blog as well as a global feed
When I have
activate :minify_javascript, compressor: Closure::Compiler.new
in my config file, it seems to want to install java. Is there a way to run the gem and get the functionality w/o installing java?
On the home screen, have post excerpts and some kind of thumbnail. If no thumbnail provided then something (drop cap? generic avatar?)
On the home screen, have the latest X posts from a few categories (currently Family, Snapshot, and History, but may add)
Small screens:
Make the icons bigger and with a bigger tap area
Medium screens:
Add text labels as soon as there's room
Just for fun, I ran this --- Are there any easy fixes in there?
Assigning to @andreweick, but let me know if you need help. Typekit should have instructions on their site.
CSS should be a simple "@import" line which can go in "_settings.css.sass". Then you just add "Proxima Nova" to the front of the $sans-serif variable
Plugin that given a base directory of images makes a gallery sample.
What I'd like to do is be able to just export all my photos (some 25K) from aperture into a "known" directory structure, and then be able to generate a gallery of them. (maybe organized by year / ordered by date), have a permalink, maybe print out EXIF type data if provided in a sidecar file.
More of a global puttin' place that I can then pick the best and post into a blog "story" entry.
Ideally this would be combined with #39 photo gallery type, but be able to work on a higher lever
Make a page that enumerates all the styles and markdown needed to generate them
A set of post types for pages (quote, video, single photo, story)
Do we want to create custom icons for each blog rather than the example ones?
