My Dotfiles

This collection of configuration files and related tools is intended primarily for personal use by its author, but is available for everyone under the terms of the CC0 1.0 Universal Public Domain Dedication.

The target platforms are FreeBSD and Linux (Ubuntu).

The project was inspired by this page (@dotfiles) and this blog post (@holman).

Installation

Clone the repository (you can use a directory different from ~/dotfiles):

git clone --recursive https://github.com/anatolyborodin/dotfiles.git ~/dotfiles

or

git clone --recursive [email protected]:anatolyborodin/dotfiles.git ~/dotfiles

Install the files:

~/dotfiles/install.sh

Implement tests

Install files to a different directory first (staging), and only then to $HOME.

Move `~/bin` to `~/opt/bin`

It would be good to have a local hierarchy of dirs like share/man, lib, etc, not only bin, in a separate place. ~/share doesn't sound good.
