Photolabs

Photolabs is a React single-page app.
You'll be able to see many different photos, filter them by topics and mark them as your favourites.

Dependencies / Libraries

  • React
  • Axios

Setup

Install dependencies with npm install in each respective /frontend and /backend.

[Frontend] Running Webpack Development Server

cd frontend
npm start

[Backend] Running Backend Server

Read backend/readme for further setup details.

cd backend
npm start

Getting Started

  • After you have set up both front end and back end, make sure you have both servers running.
  • Go to http://localhost:3000/ in your browser.
  • You'll be at Photolabs' homepage! Browse through the variety of pictures:
    • Click on any picture if you want to see it in better detail. In that page you'll also see some similar photos.
    • Click on the heart โค in the top left of the picture if you wanna save that picture as a favourite.
    • If you do save a picture as your favourite, you'll be reminded of it with a notification in the navigation bar.

Tip

Filter pictures by a specific category, select a topic in the navigation bar!
