Thanks for putting this together! I'm using your 3D printed bezels. I was wondering if you have any images of the backside of the panel (encoder wiring) prior to installing over monitor?
Hi Allanglenn, for first compliment for your great work and thanks for sharing it. I would construct the avionics of the Cessna C172, following your blog and your instruction.
I have a stupid request for you: can you explain how You have proceeded for engrave the buttons?
You printed they, then coloured black and finally you engraved with a laser, but how you found the exactly position where put the button printed and coloured?
You have realizated a jig for found the exact position or you have proceeded to sight,
Thanks and sorry for my bad english.
Can you upload a picture/printable model of the lever itself, I am unable to find a lever that will work with this, also the instructions on how to assemble said lever are not 100% clear.
Hi @allanglen
It would be very interesting to see the updated arduino code. I would like to collaborate on the project.
@allanglen sorry couldn't find your contact details on page or github.
Just wanted to shout out thanking you for sharing your designs on your site, I have done my first prototype, CNC cut you can see here. Happy to share files and colab down the tack.
I'm designing the GPS stack with touch screen for GTN750 :)

I owe you a beer!
Cheers,

@allanglen Would you be willing to share your data config file for reference? I cannot figure out how to adjust the TAS indicator with the encoder. I did get it moving erratically with the "laminar/c172/knob_TAS" custom ref, but not correctly. Did you get yours to move correctly?
Hi @allanglen
What are the frame measurements?
https://cessna172sim.allanglen.com/docs/frame/
The uxcell mini push buttons have a dimension of 7mm (~0.273 in) and I cannot get them to fit in a 3D printed hardware plate which has dimensions closer to 0.25 in when finished. I tried modifying the cad file to 0.27 in and it still prints at 0.265 in. I may up the size again another 100th and see how it prints, however...
The SVG file has dimensions of 0.2618 in. When this part was laser cut, did the 7mm push buttons fit snug in that hole and was that the actual cut dimension? Is it possible that the dimensions changed slightly since you purchased the push buttons? I can't get the buttons to fit in a printed 0.265 in hole, so it doesn't make sense to me.
I don't want to pay for laser cut parts that may not work (which is why I am trying to print them). Any feedback would be helpful.
What size hole saw bit do i need for the small instruments( fuel flow and oil temp) so the 3D printed bezel fits.
can we get the source files for all the 3d models?
Hello, I have been following your project and have to say you have made an amazing build. I am trying to make my own, and I would like to ask you if you are still working on the Garmin GMA 340. I can see on your web page that you already made a build of it. Please allow me to ask if you are going to publish the .stl files of the Garmin GMA 340 audio panel.
Thank in advance and keep up the excellent work.
Allen what an awesome panel! The attention to detail is great. Would you be willing to contact me via email or maybe even by phone. I'm building a sim for my son but have a few questions for you rather than posting them on here. Thanks Bryan.
Has anyone used the 3d printed router Template for the I strumebt bezel?
I am curious how it's used.
I think that is the cad file for the clock. I'm looking for the cad file for the small bezel, in order to make it a bit deeper...
Can you help out?
Nice project! Here are some non-working links from the documents. If I find more, I'll add them as well.
Hi @allanglen
First of all thank you so much for your documentation. I am in the process of building a home cockpit based on the 172 that I am flying in real live. I already completed the GNS 430 and would like to add GMA 340 as well. Is there any chance that you upload the stl files for the 340 as well?
Thanks!
any chance we could see some more details around the trim wheel? thanks
Hello I am trying to build this but a lot of the links don’t work or link to items that you can no longer purchase. Are you going to update the repository anytime soon?
Hi Allan,
first of all I want to thank you for your great work.
I am currently rebuilding your Cessna cockpit. In the meantime I have reached the point to build the autopilot. Have you made any progress here?
Or can I help you with that?
Many greetings
Marco
