Beautiful, printer-friendly recipe cards CSS

recipeCards.css

by Alex Schemagin www.alexschemagin.com

Add to your recipe website to print beautiful, 4" x 6" recipe cards. Forget bloated, extraneous, non-printer friendly versions of recipes. Since these media queries target printers and define strict dimensions, be mindful of the length of ingredient lists and cooking instructions. For sizing, use print-friendly metrics like "cm", "in", and "pt", etc. This CSS should always appear at the very end of your other CSS code. This is meant purely for printing. It is not recommended to use "!important", like, ever, but this will override whatever cooking recipe styles you may have for only demonstrative purposes. The styling as designed here is basic and made to look fitting for a cookbook. Change it up to make your perfect, printable recipe and add to your site. Bon apetit!
