As is RRS expects more specialized types of webfeeds to use the container element to link to it's true contents. But not all webfeeds do so, e.g. http://aima.webcomic.ws/rss/ .

In many cases it will not be worth it for feedproviders to investigate too heavily, especially in cases where the webmasters are trying to take full control over how their work is presented. If this turns out to be a problem for readers, they'll just have to complain to that webmaster.

But there are cases where images (and possibly audio or video) are embeded using those HTML elements, and feedreaders should be able to handle that case.
