Terminal Text Editor

This is a terminal-based text editor implemented in Node.js. It allows users to perform various text editing operations such as inserting text, deleting text, finding and replacing text, saving files, opening files, and more.

  • Find and replace text within the content
  • Save the content to a file
  • Open an existing file
  • Edit the content of an opened file

Installation

  1. Clone the repository:
git clone https://github.com/adityaprasad03cvcmsd/text-editor.git
  1. Install:
node index.js

Once the editor is running, you can use the following commands:

  • new_file <text>: Delete text from the specified position with the given length
  • findreplace <find> <replace>: Find and replace text within the content
  • find <find>: Find the text within the content
  • save: Save the content to a file
  • open <filename>: Open an existing file
  • edit: Edit the content of the opened file
  • close: Close the opened file
  • delete: Delete a file
  • exit: Exit the editor
