I would love to use noty. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to work in IE8.

patrickleet avatar patrickleet commented on July 25, 2024

Really? I've used it before when I was supporting IE8.. think it was an older version though.. or maybe I never actually tested it in IE8.. oops.

There is a pull request from 7 days ago for IE7/8 fix. Maybe that will be pulled in soon.

I'm just judging by the example page. Came up very strange in IE8 and didn't see any popups when I clicked the buttons.

I love noty! But I think Pines Notify is built for Bootstrap. Might be much easier to incorporate!

adamjgrant avatar adamjgrant commented on July 25, 2024

Sweet! Pines Notify should definitely replace jGrowl. Thanks, @ganeshkantu

I saw this jQueryUI theme for Bootstrap, but I have not used it yet:
http://addyosmani.github.com/jquery-ui-bootstrap/

I'm not sure how it's implemented, if it just skins jQueryUI to look like the default jQueryUI theme, or if it uses the Bootstrap CSS variables so that it would work with the alternate Bootstrap themes. But if it will work with the themes, getting jQueryUI and Bootstrap to mesh visually would be a big win.

That being said, the best date/time picker I've come across is:

http://trentrichardson.com/examples/timepicker/

which extends the jQueryUI datepicker. So if jQueryUI could be integrated cleanly with Bootstrap/Kickstrap, also including this would be a win in my book.

I have been using Addy's jQuery UI theme for quite some time now. It has some compatibility issues with Bootstrap 2.0+ - but you can work around most. Plus that group's actively working towards 2.0 compatibility. Makes life much easier with all the good work you guys put in. Thanks!

eimajenthat avatar eimajenthat commented on July 25, 2024

Cool, does it work with the Bootswatch themes? And by "work", I mean adopt the theme's appearance, rather than still rendering with the default Bootstrap theme.

Hey everyone. Here's the status on this. I've taken a few of these and turned them in to apps. (You'll see how that works soon.)

As for the remaining ones, because I'm spread so thin, I welcome anyone to turn them into Kickstrap apps, test them, and submit them to me. I will have an app store up in a week or two to showcase these.

I hope to release the beta publicly in about a week. Thanks everyone.

That is really cool idea. Can you reply here when you get the app store up, and/or have a sample app built, so we can see the structure? Would love to bundle some Kickstrapps!

adamjgrant avatar adamjgrant commented on July 25, 2024

It's up! http://getkickstrap.com/apps

But it's small, I want to test it with users first to make sure there's interest, then I'll expand.

Kicktrapps! That's why I jumped on http://kickstrapps.com before anyone else did. :)

I'm getting getkickstrap.com moved over to django (instead of static html) as we speak. It'd be really cool if some devs could help me in making apps out of the plugins/libraries here or from http://functionn.blogspot.com

There are so many cool website libraries out there but no streamlined place to find them all. Maybe we could change that.

I was about to ask if there was any documentation for packaging kickstrap apps, but then I saw this: http://getkickstrap.com/extend/#app-dev

Posting in case I'm not the only the one that missed it. Not sure what my weekend looks like, but I'll try and take a crack at packaging something if I can make the time.

adamjgrant avatar adamjgrant commented on July 25, 2024

Yeah, I'm thinking the expectation is that "docs" encompasses all documentation for doing anything, and that's a proper expectation. I'd like to make that the case in the new site I'm working on now.

Thanks.

Sounds good to me. Can someone make it and send me the zip? Should be pretty easy to do. I'm just tied up working on the getkickstrap.com. Lots of cool things being built...including the ability to upload your own apps :)

adamjgrant avatar adamjgrant commented on July 25, 2024

Good news everyone, App-uploading is now live!

http://getkickstrap.com/apps

It's all very basic right now, but right now you can upload apps, give credit to the original authors as well as yourselves, upload images, and keep them tied to your user profile so other users can see everything you've uploaded.

Of course, I will be continuously expanding this.

Thanks
