By chance are you using a search plugin for Sphynx or Solr?

Nope, not using Sphynx or Solr (or any other search plugin). It's just a very basic CRUD app.

I took some time to figure this out today and it was actually pretty simple.

This was being caused because I have a class method in my Event model called search, I just renamed it and now everything works great.

I don't think search is a reserved word or anything, but it's up to you if you want to close this or keep it a bug.
