we should describe a style guide in the wiki and apply that style to our code! current code is in a mad inconsistent style at time of writing :(

A solution would be to defer the execution of the calls inside the initialize function, so that the DOM elements associated with the block view would be created before a new layers collection is itself created. The reason is that the listener on block add is triggered only after the block initialize function was executed.
Also changing the block template in order to inetgrate .layer and .layer-info inside a same .block div.

swap the current ugly pseudo-file-db with mongodb or riak, should only change store module implementation.
