We already have the label and labelComponent properties in the item object that can be used for the same purpose.

For a simple text like your example, we can use label in the item object. The style of the label can be controlled with the labelTextStyle property.

Here's a simple example -

  data={
    [
      {value: 250, label: 'Jan'},
      {value: 500, label: 'Feb'},
      {value: 745, label: 'Mar'},
      {value: 320, label: 'Apr'},
      {value: 600, label: 'May'}
    ]}
/>
