If you have the resources on your machine I would continue using docker and
just increase your docker engine limits. Tonight I should have a pr to
reduce the resources needed by 200% which will fix a lot of the on boarding
issues with flakes. You can use the local setup if you know how to
configure the env variables to point to the right resource. I need to
improve the docs on this.

@mgifford try running this command to increase the file limit for now echo fs.inotify.max_user_watches=524288 | sudo tee -a /etc/sysctl.conf && sudo sysctl -p. The docker development.yml has a handful of modules being mapped right now that require a bit of extra setup depending on the os.

It takes about 6-8gb atm, there is a mem issue in the web project with the
latest version of next.js and our image optimizations. I have a plan to
bring this down drastically, I just pushed a commit with an example. You
can stop the web service since that takes about 1gb if you do not need it
atm. Appreciate your help!

Nice glad to see the web crawler is up, the api for that needs to be
improved but that service is really useful for determining all the urls a
website has.

@mgifford the project requirements now work with the default docker resource allocation of 2gb. Appreciate the help and patience with this, thank you. The web application moved to its own repo since UI is not really needed for the main app. Going to try to refactor the project so theres a mono-repo to handle stitching all the services together later on. For now choose one of the client apps(web - best option , ios - wip, android - wip) that you want to use for a11ywatch and run it separately. If this runs smoothly, ill close this issue.
