horsies-viewmodel-editor's Issues

Linux Support

I would possibly be willing to work on this, writing it in bash, but I'm curious if you have given any thought to this. I think you could probably run it through Wine just fine, but there is only one issue I noticed when using what came from Windows/Wine in Linux TF2:

When using "Disable Left Hand" in the config for melee weapons (this may occur on other weapons but I have not tested), I get a broken left hand showing up in the viewmodel.
image
This could be related to low settings instead of Linux, but I doubt it and I haven't tested that either. This doesn't occur on Windows.

Vote prompt issues

Hey,

Since i configured some viewmodels with the viewmodel editor, most of my voting prompts get bugged out. I still get to vote, but it doesn't show options, just an error message. I've only been getting them since using the editor. Could there be any correlation there?

Position values can only be integer values.

The fact that real numbers cannot be used when changing viewmodel positions means centered viewmodels will never truly be centered, instead being clearly off by a noticeable amount, either to the left or right. This also affects other viewmodel preferences that may require adjustments smaller than the (quite large) differences between positions set to natural integers.

cannot get the editor to affect the game at all

I've followed the instructions, changed some settings, ran GENERATE.BAT.. everything looks good, but when I go in game there seems to be no change whatsoever. Preloading or not I load into a sv_pure 0 listen server and have all default viewmodels.

Sorry in advance if I'm missing something obvious.

Add Spy PDA (Disguise Kit) as option

The Spy disguise kit (or PDA) is not able to be disabled through this mod, however, it has been done in yttrium's competitive viewmodels (if I'm not mistaken), so it is possible.

It would be nice to have an option like the Engineer's own PDA.

sometimes just doesn't work

I'm not really sure why, sometimes the mod just has no effect until I restart the game. Feels like it works maybe 30% of the time

Spy watch viewmodel

After trying a bunch of stuff i can't seem to be able to change the watch viewmodel when playing spy. Am i doing something wrong?

Errors when applying special viewmodel settings.

OS version: Windows 10, version 20H2
I've already tried:

  • Removing all extracted animations
  • Restoring settings files to default, then setting the static anim settings to y
  • Including and not including bullet tracers/automatic preloading
  • Running the _GENERATE.bat file as an administrator
  • Using and not using the fixed viewmodels mod with the tool

I'm getting errors when enabling the special settings in the viewmodel settings.txt files, such as Static_attack and More_static_idle.

The following errors occur when applying the viewmodel settings:

find: 'time': No such file or directory
find: '/c': No such file or directory
The process tried to write to a nonexistent pipe.

The following errors occur when compiling the viewmodels:

c:\program files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\team fortress 2\tf\_horsie's_viewmodel_editor\dev\decompiled_animations_temp\c_engineer_animations.qc :
ERROR: c:\program files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\team fortress 2\tf\_horsie's_viewmodel_editor\dev\decompiled_animations_temp\c_engineer_animations.qc(961): - expecting number, got "fadein"
ERROR: Aborted Processing on 'weapons\c_models\c_engineer_animations.mdl'

All this occurs with any class' viewmodel settings files.

64 bit issue

I've been using this for a year and I disabled viewmodels for primaries on my scout demo sniper and spy and very rarely it would break and some of the viewmodels would appear again, but not for all 4 classes (most of the time)

however since the switch to 64 bit, this started happening a lot more often, I would play a few games of casual and when I load into the next game I can suddenly see my scattergun again and it doesnt go away until I restart

Viewmodels reset when map changes in casual.

When changing maps in casual mode, all characters' viewmodels will reset to their defaults except the class being played at the time of the change. I am using preloading and the fixed viewmodels package.
