I do appreciate the way Mr. Michael Davis phrased the request. I have to say, at first, I felt pretty similarly and had to soften my phrasing. You guys rock.

The proposal to have a dropdown of always focus / never focus in user options is good enough for me tbh. I don't personally see myself needing to set it on a per-stream basis, or needing to change the default for users serverwide on the server I admin.

@crsongbird thanks for the feedback! This change was definitely one where we were pretty confident that the new behavior would be preferred by most users, but weren't sure whether or not there would be some users who preferred the old workflow, so it's very helpful to hear from someone who did.

@crsongbird just to follow up, that setting is now merged, so you should be able to configure the old behavior again on Zulip Cloud within the next week or so. Thanks again for the detailed and specific feedback, it was very helpful!
