@stevenhorsman-ibm Hi Steve, for the following CI/CD repos, could you provide the descriptions about what each repo is used for?
https://github.com/zowe/explorer-jes
https://github.com/zowe/explorer-mvs
https://github.com/zowe/explorer-server-auth
https://github.com/zowe/explorer-server-tests
https://github.com/zowe/explorer-uss

@1000TurquoisePogs Hi Sean, could you provide descriptions for this one?

Thanks!

explorer-jes, mvs, and uss are the explorer apps in the Web UI. Explorer-server-auth is a SSO plugin that @jordanCain wrote for the explorers, but it isn't part of the build. server-tests are functional test of the server's api.

Hi, below is the correct list that we'd like to see on zowe.org/contribute for CLI. In this order, these descriptions, etc... Thanks!

I also noticed that in some of the sections on the contribute page, each URL is prefaced with "GitHub" or "Waffle". There are 3 different formatting approaches across "Web UI and File Explorer", "CLI", and "Foundation (CI/CD)" sections. Should be made consistent. I'm partial to the approach used under "Foundation CI/CD".

GitHub:
https://github.com/zowe/zowe-cli
A command-line interface that lets application developers interact with z/OS remotely. Create an issue here for anything related to Zowe CLI.

https://github.com/zowe/zowe-cli-cics-plugin
A plug-in for Zowe CLI that lets you interact with IBM CICS.

https://github.com/zowe/zowe-cli-db2-plugin
A plug-in for Zowe CLI that lets you interact with IBM Db2.

https://github.com/zowe/vscode-extension-for-zowe
Visual Studio Code Plug-in for Zowe, which lets users interact with z/OS data sets on a remote mainframe instance. Powered by Zowe CLI.

https://github.com/zowe/zowe-cli-sample-plugin
A sample plug-in for Zowe CLI. Includes tutorials for extenders who want to contribute to the Zowe CLI project or build plug-ins.

https://github.com/zowe/imperative
The Imperative CLI Framework on which Zowe CLI is built. Use the framework when contributing to Zowe CLI or developing CLI plug-ins.

@jackjia-ibm Hi Jack, the missing descriptions for the repos are ready to be added to the community website now. See the last two comments. Also per Brandon, we need to adjust the formatting to be consistent. Thanks!

@nannanli @BrandonJenkins14 Contribute page is updated. Please review and let me know if there are issues. Thanks.

The github links/descriptions look good. Thank you!

@jackjia-ibm Could you please add the #zowe-cli channel to the list of Community Slack Channels on the same page of Zowe.org? If it is more appropriate to open a separate issue I can do so.

jackjia-ibm avatar jackjia-ibm commented on July 19, 2024

@BrandonJenkins14 it's ok to use this. What description you want to give for #zowe-cli channel? Like #zowe-api has a description of Discuss staff connected with APIM..

BTW, which position sequence you want to list the channel? Is before #zowe-onboarding ok to you?

BrandonJenkins14 avatar BrandonJenkins14 commented on July 19, 2024

@jackjia-ibm Let's continue with alphabetical order - so immediatley following the #zowe-api channel .

Off the top of my head, you could use the following description:

Ask questions about Zowe CLI, propose new ideas, and interact with the Zowe CLI community.
