In landscape view, the exit button is more difficult to hit. It takes 3-5 tries before it works in landscape mode. In portrait mode the exit button is successful every time, 1st try.
May have something to do with a minor overlap of the exit button and the top expander.

Yes, this is true for any screen that will have both a top and bottom floating button when viewed in landscape mode in a phone - there just isn't enough space to expand both. One would need to close one and open the other.
