JsFiddle is blocking the request from Github. Let me try and check this again on my machine and if all looks good I'll merge your PR. Will probably get to it by the weekend.

I created a pull request which fixes an existing issue related to adding and removing event listeners which will stop the error from being thrown, however using setAttribute('src', ''); will force the audio element to make an attempt at loading the current page as its source. There must be a cleaner way to stop a currently loading track from being loaded.

So this seems as a "won't fix" issue - Setting the src to empty string is the only way to force audio to stop loading. My solution here is to wrap the setAttribute call in try/finally block, which, although a bit patchy, should silence any errors. Together with #54 i think it's an acceptable solution.
