Perhaps you could ask him to elaborate on what he means by fragile? He may be referring to the fact that breaking changes between node versions tend to require corresponding changes to node-fibers internals.
In any case, it would not be possible to base this library on ES6 generators, as they implement semicoroutines in a more limited manner than that of node-fibers. Believe me, I would if I could! The generators spec is pretty disappointing IMHO.
