Hi dennislwy,

Probably you could try the following:

  • For Clearing Fee, you need to have a Maximum Fee value entered.
  • For Stamp Duty, I found that only by using Fraction = 100, and entering Maximum Fee value, it will work.

Am not sure why the fraction is like that. There is hardly any documentation on the website regarding all of this.

But at least using the above, I made it work.

Probably you can try it.

Hope this helps.

Hi @qureyoon
Thanks for clarifying. I able to get the calculator working now for Maybank Malaysia

In the case for Maybank Malaysia,
The stamp duty chargeable on transactions on the stock market of Bursa Malaysia is:
RM1.00 for RM1,000.00 or fractional part of value of securities (payable by both buyer and seller), and effective 17 March 2003, the stamp duty shall be remitted to the maximum of RM200.00.

Using parameter below will work,
Rate(%)=1, Fraction=1000, Maximum Fee=200

Thanks again

Hi @dennislwy,

Glad you're able to make it work.

Is there any GST (Government Service Tax) in Malaysia? For me in Singapore, there is GST, so I use the Stamp Duty as a GST.

However there is some discrepancy, since the GST should be applied to the total after Broker Fee and Clearing Fee.

But the Stamp Duty configuration is applying the value to the stock cost value, thus in the end the amount is not quite the same.

Below is some example, of how the jStock calculates:
3-11-2014 6-26-37 pm
3-11-2014 6-27-16 pm

However, the correct final value should be like this:
2014-03-11-18-27-57

I expect maximum fee = 0 no longer an issues according to my few months ago fixes.

But, I might be missing something. I will look into it within these few days.

@qureyoon nope, MY calculation is not the same as SG i suppose,
but the 'Break Even' feature is quite good feature.
@yccheok can we have the 'Break Even' feature? (probably new button put beside 'Best Price' in 'Sell' stock section)

Documentation can be found in http://www.jstock.org/help_portfolio_management.html#auto-broker-fee

When I wrote the first line of JStock's code, it was intent to be only used in Malaysia stock market.

Today, it supports 26 countries. Hence, some design like brokerage fee calculation is not applicable. My ideal case is to have a system, which can be plug-n-play according to selected country. But, that will take a lot of design & coding effort.

Any how, I submit fix on the reported problem. Hopefully we can have a new next release soon.
