Ah, on my local system I had to install the xvfb
package. But this is already in /usr/bin on the HPC system. The xorg.conf look like I need to to install xf86-video-dummy, but I don't have root.

I don't know which version conda
gives you or how it's installed.
This is not a supported configuration.
[1146645.204] (WW) Warning, couldn't open module dummy
You need to install the dummy driver. ie: dnf install xorg-x11-drv-dummy
.
Alternatively, and I must stress that this is a sub-par approach which will give you the same experience that Debian and Ubuntu users are forced to endure, switch to Xvfb
in /etc/xpra/conf.d/55_server_x11.conf
:
xpra/fs/etc/xpra/conf.d/55_server_x11.conf.in

As per above, Xvfb is an option, just not a good one.
