Thanks for the report. I've seen this too, but haven't fixed it yet. It should be as easy as adding a try/catch somewhere, just need a reproduction to test it easily. You said it quits when there's a syntax error? I'll try that out.

Yeah, so with just the basic setup, you replicate it just by going to the background.ts start it, and then while it's running delete the log('Hello background!', { id: browser.runtime.id }); to trigger a syntax error. Simple to replicate. I figured it'd would be a try catch and I'd have made a PR if I knew where to look, but I haven't taken a deep dive into this project yet to know how the whole thing works 😅
