That is actually a search field and as you type the entity (if inside your HA) should show up above in a list. For example I type in door in that field and it will show me all entities that have door in the name and then I can select one. Does that not work for you? We are adjusted in time where that search field shows up so it might not be 100% apparent to the user.

Updated code to have the field search results to appear under in the grid field similar to the above fields. Let me know if you see it after update.

Are you running the newest Home Assistant? I can't replicate this issue and I do not see any other people with this issue so it might be related to your install/browser or something personal to you? Can you sent me a video possibly?

Not sure why but your replies have an unnecessarily large amount of reply text which is making it difficult to communicate. Not sure how you are replying to this but you might need to change your method.
Do you have entities in HA already that you are searching for? This card needs entities you already have inside HA in order to find them.

i was replying from microsoft outlook.
yes of course the entities exist in HA, otherwise they would not displayed in your search result list?

So if you can see the entity in the search field just select it and it will show up? I'm confused as to the main issue you are having.
