Hey, thanks for opening an issue! We really love a lot about ElderJS, but we're not sure if hooks and shortcodes are concepts that transfer directly to Astro.
We will absolutely be looking at the best way to give users more control over what Astro generates, but it's not clear yet exactly what that will look like. I'm going to close this for now while we work on defining what extending Astro means.
