Turns out there's next-error-function
, so this should work properly now :)
from deadgrep.
Hmm, we could do something like this:
(define-key deadgrep-mode-map [remap next-error] #'deadgrep-forward)
(define-key deadgrep-mode-map [remap previous-error] #'deadgrep-backward)
but that doesn't help users who explicitly do next-error
and previous-error
. It feels slightly dishonest to support next-error
(search results aren't errors), but as you say rgrep
and grep
do exactly this.
What would suit your workflow? Do you use the keybindings or the commands themselves?
from deadgrep.
Yeah I know it's weird but it has some logical? history behind it. I use the commands themselves.. often if I have done a rgrep
search and hit (next-error)
to go to visit the first match buffer I might hit (next-error)
again and from there I am redirected to the next match and it works. I don't think your solution would work with that? It seems like it's overriding the function but only when deadgrep-mode
is active?
