[Bug] Importing a pattern from a network directory crashes Imhex about imhex HOT 5 OPEN

Thanks for the report! Could you please try doing the same thing with the Nightly? It can be downloaded from https://imhex.download/#nightly. For me locally it seems to work fine now.

The nightly version is an installer, where you can only install imhex on a local hard drive. Selecting a pattern file from network works fine, with nightly. But there might still be a problem when installing imhex on a network drive via the portable version and then selecting an pattern file.

there are msi installer and portable versions of the nightly available at the same place.

There is definitely an issue with installing Imhex on a network drive. Selecting a pattern will still crash Imhex even on the newest nightly.

Oh you've installed ImHex on the drive, not just opened a pattern file from it.
I'd guess this is an issue with libmagic which probably doesn't support this.
I can look into it but installing anything on a network drive is generally not something I'd do or want to support as this can cause all sort of weird issues
