for example.
when i use htop in the terminal. it will crash... and works very slowly
it happens to me while system wake from sleep, htop output will be crappy, reload the system will "solve" the issue.
I don't have much idea on what else can be done to improve it.

Thanks very much for this. I turned on VT-d (for Parallels) without problem. I've tried to update to 5.6 but it seems to be very slow to boot, and the whole system is slow and jerky. I'll stick with 5.5 until 5.7 is relatively stable and try again. I also tried with the latest BIOS F9g but had problems with that so reverted to F8.
