I cannot replicate this issue. Are you sure none of your existing CSS conflicts with the button hover?

@zebra-bg are you still seeing this issue?

Since we cannot reproduce it, I am closing it for now.

I can reproduce this issue in Chrome Version 27.0.1453.110 m, but not in Firefox 21.0 (EDIT: on Windows 8)
I would suspect it has something to do with the state of the buttons when changes to the buttons' css (by animations?) are happening mid-hover. I can't find anything concrete inside of Chrome's Inspector, though.
This also occurs when I run Chrome (still version 27.0.1453.110 m) in incognito mode without any add-ons/plugins/extensions enabled. Could it be a browser-specific rendering bug?
Take the success button on the demo page; I've included the success-darker button for reference.
It appears that there's some compression when I embed these as images, but you can see them at the right size when you click-to-expand.
Here's a close-up side-by-side:

It doesn't happen on mac for Chrome Version 27.0.1453.110. It seems like rendering issue for chrome on windows.
Need to investigate it some more to see what is going on.

I checked on Windows 7, Chrome Version 27.0.1453.116 m, it seems fine over there. Can you please take a look and confirm? @matthewcocco
Probably was a rendering bug which got fixed in later release?

Updated Chrome to Version 27.0.1453.116 m on Windows 8; still seeing the blip.
It also shows up in SRWare Iron Version 24.0.1350.0 (176001) - Iron is probably based off of an older version of Chrome, though.
It doesn't show up in Chromium on Ubuntu ( Version 25.0.1364.160 Ubuntu 13.04 (25.0.1364.160-0ubuntu3) ).
EDIT:
Could it be related to how a some animations are only shown during the (not hovered) --> (hovered) state, and not during the (hovered) --> (not hovered) state?
See: hovering over Pagination elements, elements in the Nav subsections...

I can reproduce the issue on Chrome Version 31.0.1650.63 on OS X (10.9), however a -webkit-transition-property: background-color fixes it.

#5 fixes it.
