we believe this could be a matter of updating simde. either way, it's definitely a simde issue.

Interesting, I ran it on simde 0.8.0 which is pretty recent so might have been caused by a recent update of it?

nah, the issue seems to happen in the old version too, we just thought it might've been fixed but we guess not.
we don't really understand why it's erroring/warning like that, tbh.
