lein ring war throws a NullPointerException under leiningen 2 about lein-ring HOT 6 CLOSED

A bug in Lein2 appears to be masking the original exception. I've opened up an issue for it on the Leiningen repo.

The real exception is that compile changed it's return type as of lein2 preview 3. I've submitted a pull request that fixes this in lein-ring. The exception is no longer hidden by leiningen on its master branch.

So what's the easiest way to get around this for the moment?

The easiest way is to use lein1 (I renamed lein 1.7.x to ~/bin/lein1 when I upgraded), which works fine.

The next easiest way is to grab my branch of lein-ring and lein install it. This will get lein2 working.

Note that with the patched lein-ring, the uberwar and war tasks will work with Leiningen2 preview3, but the help task still has a bug. This extra bit is fixed on leiningen master.
