workaround: follow the configuration section in the README.
I ran the command: VSpaceCode: Configure Default Settings and Keybindings

from vspacecode.

The config notification only prompts when it is a fresh install unfortunately. Maybe there's another way to do it differently

I had the same issue even after removing VSCode completely with:

rm -fr ~/Library/Preferences/com.microsoft.VSCode.helper.plist
rm -fr ~/Library/Preferences/com.microsoft.VSCode.plist
rm -fr ~/Library/Caches/com.microsoft.VSCode
rm -fr ~/Library/Caches/com.microsoft.VSCode.ShipIt/
rm -fr ~/Library/Application\ Support/Code/
rm -fr ~/Library/Saved\ Application\ State/com.microsoft.VSCode.savedState/
rm -fr ~/.vscode/

Running VSpaceCode: Configure Default Settings and Keybindings in fact worked for me

Just extra bit of context. We use ExtensionContext.globalState to store the installation information. However, there is no hook for us to unset the state on uninstallation. I don't know where vscode is storing that information, their doc didn't really specify.

The command VSpaceCode: Configure Default Settings and Keybindings is the same command we run in the notification.
