Our safety is the first priority while travelling or driving. According to National highway traffic safety administration , drowsy driving causes more than 100,000 crashes a year resulting in 40,000 injuries and 1,550 deaths . It is a necessary step to come with an efficient technique to detect drowsiness as soon as driver feels sleepy. This could save large number of accidents to occur. One method is the behaviour-based method , it detects drowsiness using image processing on a driver’s facial movements captured by camera. Image processing technique can be divided into three categories: Template matching technique. Eye blinking technique. Yawning based technique.
