techelp icon techelp

App for mit police. - Students will be able to request the nearest police officer in their neighborhood at the press of a button. It’ll raise a ‘distress signal’ and alert nearby cops. - Any police in the vicinity will immediately receive the user’s location and can choose to accept the request and solve the issue. - A rating system - Data collected from locations, crime cases solved, etc. can be visualized on a map, or graphed with some other cool user interface widgets. To avoid people abusing the distress button and confusing it with drunk ness or other type of emergencies After MVP I was thinking when they push on the distress signal we have a pop up that says “is it medical” is it crime” and other based off of priority

We hope to extract relevant tweets using the twitter API, search for certain keywords related to the economy, extrapolate a sentiment on related tweets in that time period, and correlate it to the stock market trend on that day based off of data from the Yahoo Finance API to see if we can predict stock market movement and trends with future hypothetical tweets and scenarios.
