I agree this is aesthetically nicer and we should do it, but to be clear, these two examples are functionality wise identical no?

when I tested with either in one global block or multiple global block, syntax wise I didn't see any issues and rsyslog syntax check passes fine. Grouping all the global directives under one block is something I've seen it in multiple places for example: look at the bottom of the rsyslog mailing list thread http://lists.adiscon.net/pipermail/rsyslog/2015-August/041050.html My understanding is all the global parameters available here http://www.rsyslog.com/doc/v8-stable/rainerscript/global.html can be used under one global block and it shouldn't change the functionality.
