Thank you for reporting this. It seems my documentation needs improvements.

You can not generate machine code or execute MIR code in the interpreter w/o loading modules and linking them. At linking stage there is MIR code simplificiation process and interpreter and generator expect the simplified code.

So before MIR_interp(fContext, fCompute, &val, 0); in the first example, you need to put the following code:

  MIR_load_module (fContext, fModule);
  MIR_link (fContext, MIR_set_interp_interface, NULL);

At loading stage data allocation happens too, so even if you generate simplified code by yourself for only one module without using any externals, address for your data will be a garbage w/o loading.
