i've updated sdnext core with a workaround for this issue and will close issue here.
new issue will be created in modernui repo to track it for full solution.

I can confirm I am also experiencing this in the image tab but I am using XL models. Setting the upscale by to x1.5 or x2 as examples does not change the image size output. Image remains the original size. In this example, the original image is 1344 x 1728 and I set the upscale to x2 expecting it to be 2688 x 3456 but it remains the original size.
