You mean to run it one time rather than on a loop? In the config, you can set ldap_sync_loop and it will immediately sync invites and then exit.

Sorry, then I put it wrong :-)
I understand the loop and can run it in the background so this is not a problem.
Essentially, then, is this ldap_sync service sending out an invitation email and done? Or maybe you know something else?

Ah. It will call the "invite" api which will send an invitation to a user. That will not only notify them, but allow them to sign up even with signups disabled.
