Ability to cancel async operation depends on the operation itself, not the timer.
For example, for fetch()
you can pass AbortSignal
and cancel it later.
In your code to cancel the delay()
function you can call clearTimeout
on timer id generated inside delay()
:
let timeoutId;
const delay = ms => new Promise(_ => timeoutId = setTimeout(_, ms));
async function run() {
const timer = new Timeout();
try {
await Promise.race([
test(),
timer.set(1200, 'Timeout!')
]);
} catch (e) {
console.log(e);
clearTimeout(timeoutId);
} finally {
timer.clear();
}
}
from await-timeout.
