In that case I don't feel quite so bad about merging this sort of stuff in (but still ashamed of the Ruby community in general). It might be worth going through and seeing if a subset it worth updating in filetype.vim. At first glance I'd say the only thing ubiquitous enough to be worth considering is Gemfile. Maybe. Oh, and we can probably kill Rantfile,*.rant.
And I just noticed *.gem in there, but gems are tarballs. I'll kill it.
