Hi there, I'm Varun! 👋

I am a Computer Science major at the University of Massachusetts Amherst with minors in Business and Math. Last summer I interned at Adani and currently in my free time, I am working on an AI-powered full-stack application using Firebase, Next.js, and the LangChain framework.

💼 Work Experience

  1. Adani - Software Engineering Intern - (May 2023 - Aug 2023)

  2. Duck Creek Technologies - Software Engineering Apprentice - (Feb 2023 - May 2023)

🚀 Projects

  1. Binary Buddy Allocator

    • Description: • Created a memory allocator which made the use of recursive binary splitting of free memory regions in the heap into halves until a block of requested size is found. Coalesced free regions in heap using a similar technique when memory was freed. • Designed a Binary Tree ADT using structs where each node stored a pointer to an offset of the heap memory. • Implemented recursive DFS algosto traverse through the binary tree and find free nodesfrom heap for memory allocation.
    • Technologies used: C, C++
  2. PunchTime

    • Description: • Built an employee time tracking management dashboard using React, HTML and CSS in a scrum team of 9 developers by constructing methods for large-scale UI components consuming served JSON. • Programmed server-side logic for the portal using NodeJS, Mongoose, and MongoDB and dockerized both client and server. • Created 6 API endpoints and used Postman to test their performance and Axios for frontend-backend data communication.
    • Technologies used: React, MongoDB, Mongoose, HTML, JavaScript, Express.js, Axios, Docker
